STARFLEET COMMAND QUADRANT 1

The Deputy Fleet Commander is designated as the second highest ranking officer in Quadrant
One in line of succession and is the chief assistant to the Fleet Commander. 

Authorized Rank: Admiral/General
Reports to: Fleet Commander
Responsibilities:

• Fulfills the office of the Fleet Commander in the absence of the incumbent Fleet Commander

• Is vice chairman of the Admiralty Boar

• Is the chief investigating officer for quadrant activities

• Oversees the operations of all Starfleet Command units and their related activities

• Reviews reports from Starbases

• Commissions new chapters and the establishment of such Starfleet Command units as described in Article VI and X of the Articles of the Federation

• Issues command packets to unit commanding officers

• Sends updated rosters for ships and starbases

• Serves on a Board of Inquiry and Court Martial

• Oversees the staff under their command

• Responds to quadrant internal and external communications concerning matters not specifically under the jurisdiction of the fleet commander

• Votes on Board business
